ADD Fish Oil Treatment That Works

ADD fish oil treatment works naturally. And here's why and how.

Scientists have known for some time that children with ADD and ADHD have many of the same symptoms as people with a deficiency of essential fatty acids.

And, as reported in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, children "with lower compositions of total omega 3 fatty acids had significantly more behavioral problems, temper tantrums, and learning, health, and sleep problems than did those with high proportions of omega 3 fatty acids." [Vol. 71, No. 1, 327S-330S]

News like this is a much easier pill to swallow for parents who want a more natural approach to dealing with ADD kids.

And knowing there are choices makes it a lot easier to decide. It gives parents the option of trying the natural approach first.

Of course medications have their place, but they also come with a host of serious side effects that need to be weighed against the results. The only known side effect of fish oil is a long list of extraordinary health benefits from childhood through old age.

And many scientists are now beginning to promote this natural approach to dealing with ADD and ADHD children.

For example, in research published in Prostaglandins, Leukotrienes and Essential Fatty Acids, the authors state that treating ADD and ADHD with omega 3 fatty acids is "safe compared to existing pharmacological interventions" [Vol. 63, No.1-2, pp. 79-87]

And it gets even more exciting. One scientist, after reviewing all the available studies on omega 3s, stated in the Canadian Journal of Psychiatry [Vol. 48:195-203], "that higher dosages of omega-3 fatty acids (2 to 4g daily) may ameliorate the symptoms of several psychiatric conditions" including ADD and ADHD.

These are pretty bold statements for scientists to put in print. It's not everyday you find the scientific world so excited they're willing to use words like "ameliorate" about a natural nutrient found in food.

"Ameliorate" means to make better or improve (as in "cure") and is usually reserved for prescription medications.

So science backs you up in looking for ADD fish oil treatment for your child. And omega 3 fish oil is such a simple solution. Just adding more oily fish to your family's food plan is a good beginning.

But this doesn't mean fish sticks and fish patties. Those are made from white meat fish, which are low in omega 3s.

What you need to serve is salmon, tuna, sardines, mackerel or herring. And serve them as often as possible. Even then, it's very challenging to get 2 to 4 grams of fish oil daily just from eating fish.

But supplementing your family's diet with good quality fish oil capsules is such an easy alternative.

If this proven natural approach seems more appealing to you than traditional medications, you'll want to find a fish oil product that's pure (free from toxins), balanced in potency and complete with all eight members of the omega 3 family.

It's a solution proven to work for ADHD and ADD fish oil treatment.
